£5.99
Live Singles In Providence aka Bloody-Fucking-Gore-Improv-No-Wave-Skronk-Meltdown presents a limited to 49 copies 3” of ecstatic-free-metal blowouts from these liberated-to-the-point-of-psychosis New York heads, featuring drummer Adam Kriney of Owl Sounds et al, Ed Chang on homemade reed instruments, ‘demonized’ alto sax, toolbox percussion and ferocious noise guitar and Motoko Shimzu on post-Patty Waters/Junko styled high/death vocals. 9 short blasts of primitive Hijokaidan/Abe-Takayanagi attack strategies played by punks that don’t know any better. This is as crude as all hell. Packaged in over-sized colour paper wallet.

Colour Sounds Recordings CST-020
3” CD-R
£4.99
Great split disc from Adam Kriney's (Owl Sounds et al) Colour Sounds Recordings label. Liek-DF (duo of Hektor Fontanez and Dave Ferraro) work wastes of acoustic guitar-led acid folk into phased curtains of drone-melt while Dead Girls (duo of Alfred Telehuahua and Moose ‘Hank' O'Brien) ride drums and synth into high energy post-Suicide/Dead Machines/Metalux-style kosmiche jazz jams. Packaged in translucent, spray-painted colour sleeves with sprayed discs in two different editions, total run of 60 copies.

Colour Sounds Recordings 018
LP
£9.99
First ever vinyl release from Adam Kriney's Colour Sounds Recordings label presents a wild free jazz/no wave/metal blurt from the trio of Kriney on drums, Doug Theriault on guitar and Ed Chang on saxophone. Some wild way between Company and The Contortions, this is the kind of forced reconciling of fire and freeform that pretty much explodes any preconceived notion of either, with an assaultive headfirst style that at points blurs into pure speedfreak momentum. Throw in some intensely hypnotic dirge/grooves combined with great sheets of pure, free blowing and its enough to make you set up permanent camp. Comes on coloured vinyl in plastic sleeves, limited to 311 copies. Recommended.

"LA OTRACINA Summer Tour EP. Three tracks featuring extensive collage work and new music by new bassist Evan Sobel. Source material includes new/unreleased recordings of trio improvisations during the Adam Kriney/Ninni Morgia/Jordon Schranz period as well as some material from earlier out-of-print EPs. A brilliant mix of acid-rock blowout, early electronic Kraut innovations, and lush drones/tones. A teaser of new music on the horizon!" - CSR. Third pressing, edition of 27 copies.

Owl Xounds
Teenagers From Mars
Colour Sounds Recordings 006
LP
£10.99
Brand new limited album (400 copies on coloured vinyl w/stickered sleeve) from Adam Kriney's square-slaying free jazz unit, this time in trio format with Kriney on drums, Gene Janas on upright bass and Mario Rechtern on saxophones. Rechtern has been a long-term presence on the fringes of the US/Euro free scene, playing as a member of Reform Art Unit alongside Sunny Murray and Linda Sharrock and recently guesting with Weasel Walter in his Quartet/Sextet/Trio. The feel here is of fully liberated energy forms, with limbs forced deep into the kinda bastions of freedom associated with a buncha exclusive outside music streams like psych rock, hardcore grunt, primitive field blather and – of course – fire music and beyond. There’s a muscular attack and a commitment to pushing past mere dialogue and interaction that sounds most like Black Flag at their jamminest, while the actual weight of the constituent parts has as much to do with Red-era King Crimson as it does with Sunny Murray’s work with ESP-Disk. I dunno, but it almost feels to me as if post fire music played with a post punk/noise mindset may finally be on the up. So release your grip on your own brain and reconnect yr ass to the cosmos. A split release between Wooden Wand's Mad Monk imprint and Kriney’s Colour Sounds Recordings. Highly recommended.
