Killertree Records KTR-10

CD-R
£6.99

New duo jams from Pete Nolan of Magik Markers and Bryan Ramirez of Ex-Cocaine/Plants et al. Aspects of this sound like some of the post-Trapdoor/Harsh 70s feel of The Dead C in terms of confused electro-acoustic improvisation and the kind of degraded garage rock most immediately associated with the sound of the Mouthus universe.

CD-R
£6.99

Edition of 45 copies on Bryan Ramirez’s (Ex-Cocaine, Universal Indians/Poor School et al) label, featuring solo homemade electronic/acoustic ritual from one ‘Julian’ of The Pope/L.A. Combines some classic avant-confusion of a Residents/early Neubauten vintage along with tombs of Industrial echo, a weird tape-music ‘art’ edge and a trash ritual feel that is somewhere between Folkways and ESP Disk.

LP + CD-R
£12.99

Edition of 300 LPs w/bonus CD-R of extra metal, pairing two killing thug-psych-jazz units from outta nowhere USA. Poor School is a trio led by Bryan Ramirez ex of Universal Indians that features him on guitar, Nathan Hoyme on reeds and John Niekrasz on drums. Their side long piece starts out in a kinda hyper-focussed Neil Young/Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere style, with Hoyme loading the lead guitar with a coupla lungs of steel before the trio explode into full-on sucker punch Sonny Sharrock/Black Woman style, screaming and wailing through peak after peak after fucking peak. On the flip, the SF-based Wiggwaum duo of Douglas Katelus on Rhodes and Randylee Sutherland on drums play Industrial strength improvised crank, with a Doc Marten in the Sun Ra back catalogue and a buncha fingers that stretch all the way from LA to Japan. LP comes in screened sleeves with an insert.
