When Tom Lax of Siltbreeze described the aesthetic of Last Laugh Records as being focussed on the ‘wartier’ end of Killed By Death if was this crude little monster from 1981 that he particularly had in mind. Rumoured to have been cut as a piss-take by someone with a deep hatred of preppies – which hardly narrows it down – “I Don’t Wanna Be A Preppy” goes well beyond the remit with some fantastically fat/primitive fuzz over jack-off rhythms and mocking/sneering vocals making it the perfect shot of DIY snot. One of the best of the Last Laugh issues to date, repro labels in a plain white disco bag. Highly recommended!
