My Cat Is An Alien
There is a Flame_____Sometimes

Rococo Records RCC-0005

LP
£8.99

The last few MCIAA LPs have seen the Opalio brothers take some giant fuckin leaps, pushing the music well beyond the gravity of the early LPs/CDs and out into an even more personally blasted universe. This beautifully packaged LP comes in a limited hand-numbered edition of 500 copies and documents some of their most minimal and vehement electronic compositions. Indeed, if it wasn’t for the slow pad of drum skins, parts of this could almost pass for a pared-down post-Whitehouse investigation of eviscerated power electronics. A beautiful late-night spin. Recommended.

Graveyards
Night In A Graveyard

Rococo Records RCC-0011

one-sided LP
£13.99

First release in Rococo's "Me Gusta Me Gusta" series of subscription-only one-sided LPs comes from the Graveyards trio of John Olson (Wolf Eyes) on reeds, Hans Buetow on cello and Ben Hall on drums. Beautifully articulate post-fire music moves that cut huge swathes through tense, thick air. Another beauty, hand-numbered edition of only 200 copies.

Olson & Yeh
Live

Rococo Records RCC-0012

one-sided LP
£14.99

Second release in Rococo's "Me Gusta Me Gusta" series of subscription-only one-sided LPs presents as killer set of aural pugilism from Spencer Yeh of Burning Star Core and John Olson of Wolf Eyes/Graveyards et al. Hand-numbered edition of 200 copies. Moves from gunky, Dead Machines-style punk electronic wrassle through epic synth/goth peaks that sound like early Tangerine Dream re-scored for Nico performance by Brian Eno, John Cale and Yasunao Tone. Wild.

Is
Ostentatiously White

Rococo Records RCC-017

one-sided LP
£11.99

New release in Rococo’s on-going limited subscription-only series, this solo release by Bryan W. Tholl is limited to 150 hand-numbered copies and is already sold-out at source. “"Ostentatiously White is an assault of abrasive elements dedicated to the active listener. Utilizing turntables, found sounds, pedal noise, home built circuits, vocal disembodiments and other various gadgets; this is not to be taken seriously in the most serious of times.”

Wether
Stones And Light

Rococo Records RCC-0013

one-sided LP
£11.99

New release in Rococo Records’ on-going limited edition subscription series presents this new side from Mike Haley’s solo project in a hand-numbered edition of 150 copies with screened, paste-on sleeves. Already sold-out at source. “Demon breath drone and peasant rust collating into an ancient spell. Dirty. Sick. Then dust. Stones And Light collapses just over the eleven minute mark, and in that time manages to stir the unholy in the throats of the malignant. Dust.”

The Julie Mittens
April/June

Rococo Records RCC-0021

LP
£11.99

Debut vinyl release from this amazing European power trio who surf the post-Fushitsusha spaceways with massively expansive psychedelic guitar instrumentals that wring blood from epically sustained single note voltage, scattershot, martial drums and brain-thudding bass guitar. This particular instalment is a little more 'stately' than the previous self-released CDs, with Aart-Jan's electric guitar a little closer to the kind of post-Beefheart/Twin Infinitives logic of Keiji Haino's playing circa Allegorical Misunderstanding. Bass and drums work precise architectural shapes around the wailing six string, giving each improvised track the feel of a precisely conceived instant and the record is designed for you to be able to drop the needle anywhere and watch the river flow. Four tracks in all. Recommended.
