Rodger Stella
Kosmische Dub + Reich Riley
Second Layer Records No Cat
2xCassette
£11.99
Fairly amazing set of syrupy screwed and chopped ‘versions’ from Rodger Stella of redneck noise group Macronympha. The first cassette consists of an inspired downer gloop that splices together King Tubby instrumental jams with recordings of the Krautrock group Cluster, generating an inspired form of dubby electro-hymnal that takes you right there. The second cassette is a little more rigorous in its composition, splicing together Steve Reich’s Four Organs and Terry Riley’s Shri Camel to endless hypnotic effect. Edition of 200 copies with inspired sci-fi cover art.
